Tuesdays With Morrie

The book I've read this quarter was called "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. This book is about the two main characters Mitch and Morrie. They met when Mitch was Morries old student in college and they pretty much had a great connection in college. Before Mitch graduates he promises to come back and visit Morrie, sadly after that he never did. Mitch has a very busy life because of his job. He is always traveling somewhere. One night he turns on the TV and sees that its his old college professor Morrie being interviewed. Morrie has this disease that basically is taking over his bones. Over time it sdtarts to grow more and more making his paralyzed and not able to move his legs and it starts to spread more and more. Mitch decides to pay him a visit and ever since then he visits his old college professor and talks to him about life lessons every Tuesday. Ever since then he visits him and always talks with him.

I woudl recommend this book to anyone that loves a touching type of book. This book teaches many lessons about family, love, life, etc. I personally like all Mitch Alboms books because he is my all time favorite author. No matter what he writes all his books touch my heart deeply. I don't ever recall a time Mitch Albom has failed me whenever reading one of his books. This book really shows the meaning of friendship and shows how no matter what you go through you can stay happy and live your life to the fullest.

Letting go

Throughout our lives we have people come in and out of it each day. Sometimes we don't even know who real and not real friends are. Even though this may happen let me tell you that if you lose someone you love, it's gonna be okay. Sometimes the people we thought would stay in our lives forever end up leaving. I know this may seem horrible when it happens but it's only because they weren't meant to stay in your life after all. Most of the time they leave because they were there to show you a good time and then that good time suddenly comes to an end. Let me tell you, if they are meant to be in your life, then later on they will reappear. All you really have to do is be patient and maybe they'll pop up when you least expect it. I know we can't identify the people that will stay forever and the people that will leave but I always know that no matter what god a plan for me.

Sometimes you just got to learn to let go of the people who choose not to stay in your life. If you stay stuck on the past it's gonna hurt you more than letting go ever will. You got to think to yourself "maybe they left because they were toxic to my life." You need to cute out all the toxic people and just let go. If they were meant to stay in your life they will stay. I think letting go is the best step to being happy and living a happy and full life.

Dinner dance &' graduation

It's about that time folks! At my school we basically on,y have one full week of school left. It's very scary to think about but to be honest I'm really excited to graduate and go to dinner dance. I wanna start off and talk about dinner dance. It was really a great night for me. I had so much fun with all my friends and we all enjoyed each others company. everyone looked so well dress last night and I couldn't be happier that everything went well. The dinner they gave us was pretty good to be honest. My favorite part of it was the mashed potatoes because I absolutely love love love mash potatoes. We all took so many great pictures together and it was my first time every going to that banquet hall so that was fun to experience too. I cant even explain in this blog how much fun yesterday night was and I wish I could go back to it again.

Now sadly, we graduate in less than a week. I am gonna be happy that we FINALLY get to graduate but I really am gonna miss all my friends and all my favorite teachers. Even if this year wasn't the best year of my life, I will miss everyone. I've been at HMS since sixth grade and its gonna be very hard to leave all the memories I've had there. Some of us have been together since the sixth grade but some of us haven not yet we all still grew closer than ever before. I know graduating middle school can be very exciting but for me I think im gonna ball my eyes out. I love all my HMS family and even though we all are going to split up that, we will still be in each others hearts. "Once a falcon, Always a falcon".

Quotes I Adore

This is one of my all time favorite quotes by Mitch Albom. I feel that this quote is stating if you keep holding on to the past or hurtful events it only will break your heart more. Holding on to the past will start eating you away inside because you wish you could go back and change what decision you've made. Words can't really describe the love I have for this quote because I know that I personally can relate and I know that others can too. We shouldn't hold on to the things that hurt us because we are only leading ourselves into a dark room we feel we can't get out of.

This is also one of my favorite quotes by Mitch albom. I haven't mentioned the fact that I absolutely love all the books I've read by him. I really enjoy this quote because it states that even though we know we need to do one thing we do something else instead because we are bound to do it. We know we shouldn't but we still decide to do it anyways. In life we take things for granted but we know we shouldn't. It's stating that in the back of our heads we know what we should do but we don't to it after all. We know as people certain things shouldn't hurt us but yet they do anyway because we all have feelings and we can't control what decisions we decide to make.

Walking and fundraising

Instead of going to earth day I decided to go with my mom and my friend to a walk for cancer. I chose to do this because of the fact the walk was for a good cause and I wanted to show awareness for the people who have passed/survivors. It was actually a really fun experience. We had our own tent because we were there with my moms job. Before we started walking we sat in the tent and ate granola bars and drank juice so we can energize. It was really nice to meet new people and I can admit I'm a pretty shy person when it comes to meeting new adults. When we actuallly started to walk we walked around THE WHOLE soldier field. We walked a whole 3 miles!!!! It didn't even feel long it felt like I was walking to school to be honest but maybe that's a little TOO short. I got to walk by the museum and I got to even go in soldier field.

Going to the walk was a really phenomenal expierce of me overall. I got to meet new people and knowing that I'm walking for a disease that affects people's health all around the United States makes me feel like I did something good for people that didn't have it so good for a period of time. It was a really beneficial walk for everyone and I'm very glad I got to participate in an event like that.

Beginnings and Endings

What I feel about the beginning of this ending is very emotional and sad because I'm really going to miss middle school. I'm going to miss how you can have a connection and a bond with a teacher now but I know in high school there's going to be more students and the teachers won't care. Another thing I'm going to miss is how teachers aren't going to always be there to help me. Or how I won't be with my friends next year because I'm going to a different high school. So I'm scared and nervous of moving on to the next level but then I am excited and anxious. Since it's the beginning of the end, I have to make it count and do as much as I can before I move on. I have to do this so I can the do most before the time comes where I have to leave and live what's ahead of me.
For the beginning of the end it also gets md confused because how did it get to this point so fast. I remember coming from elementary school to middle school and now I'm going to high school from middle school. The first two years went by fast, especially this last one. I'm going to miss everything about heritage. I hope I do as good as I did in high school as I did in middle school. Sometimes I sit and wonder how I'm ever gonna be able to function in a new school. I hope everything turns out okay and I have a phenomal freshman year

Spring fever

It's now spring, and I couldn't be more confused. This weather really is something else. One second it's nice out, and the next it's raining out. Come on now, I'm not even that complicated. I love spring though, because it is one season closer to summer. Even though summer isn't my favorite season, it's when I can be free. I can hang out with my friends, watch movies, read different books, and explore new places. My friends suggest that I travel to different places this year, but it might be a little more difficult going places this year. Anyways, I'm getting off track. Getting back to what we were talking about before, this spring is something else. This weather is beautiful some days, and gloomy other days. I love how during spring, I can go to the park after school and play different sports with my friends. Or the fact that I can play a great soccer game as my hair flows with the beautiful spring breeze. Spring is here, and I love it (sometimes).
Enjoy this picture of flowers and a cute little bunny! (:

Evil lives in everyone

This quarter, a book my class and I finished was Lord of the Flies. This book is about a group of boys that get stranded on an unknown island due to the fact they're plane has crashed. The story tells about how these group of boys live on the island. Thoughtout the book you can really see the way the characters develop because of the way they talk and the way they behave. Let's just say that not EVERYONE stays civilized and some of them lose their marbles. Some act vulnerable and some don't even care about getting off the island anymore. Some don't even stay alive. You'll just have to find out the rest by reading the book!

I would recommend this book to someone that is very very patient and doesn't have a problem with books that kind of drag a bit. Even though this book had action in it, it isn't the FASTEST book you'll ever read. You just have to be patient with it and see what it has in store. This book is for someone that really can comprehend because it can be a very difficult book to read.  I hope whoever is reading this takes time to actually check out the book and read it!!!

Life is beautiful

In the life is beautiful movie it is similar to the stuff we read about the holocaust because it does show in the movie what people went through in the concentration camps. In the reading it does explain more in detail about what the concentration camps were but in the movie it actually gave a visual to the audience. However in the reading it explained a lot more about what went on during the holocaust but in the movie it just shows what a family goes through in the concentration camp. Although the movie did show a lot of detailed scenes and it does show how the nazi soldiers are very cruel to the Jews working in the concentration camps.

In the movie Life is beautiful the mood doesn't seem to be a gloomy yet hopeful type mood. In he movie the son really had hope to have the best birthday ever and the dad is trying his best to make it feel like it. Even though they are in a concentration camp the dad tries to make it as fun for the son as possible but of course, like any other kid, the boy wants to go home. This movie has a gloomy type mood to it because of the fact they ARE in a concentration camp and those never really were happy from the start. This is similar to what we read about the holocaust because of course everything we did read had a gloomy mood to it because it was sad to see what people had to go through. The reading was very explicit which helped develop the mood.

Life is beautiful really does show that life is beautiful. That sounded like a very confusing line but I'll explain more. In the movie, the parts when he is trying to make his son believe that he is gonna make the best birthday for him as possible really shows how much a parent can care for you. Even if they are going through a tough time they will always try their best for you. This really shows how even if life is tough people can still go an extra mile for you and that is what really makes it beautiful. Also, in life there is always gonna be rough patches. No matter what you go through there will be a tough time ahead and you just have to work through it. The dad in the movie sacrificed his own life for his son because he just wanted the best for his son. In the end the son gets rescued and gets to be with his mom again. This really does show that even through a dark time there will be a light at the end of the tunnel waiting for you. You just have to work through the rough patches to get to the smooth road.
