New Year Goals!!

When the new year comes around I really do want to change. I intend to stay more focused on school work and sports than anything else. I feel if I focus more on these two I will be more successful throughout the new year. My goal for the year is to stay off social media as much as I can. I can successfully achieve this goal by going on social media only once or twice a day. I think this new decision will really help me improve A LOT. I can focus more on my school work and get higher grades than I do now and exceed in sports. This became by goal because I could not emphasize enough the fact that those two things mean a whole lot to me. I do not accept the fact if I'm doing bad in any one of those things. It might sound a bit cliche to describe those two things in this way but they do have a HUGE impact on my life. Also, I think I could work more on time management. Sports and school work can be really really difficult to balance out in time but I think if I set a plan for myself before the day starts I could stay organized and control the time I have! I hope ,y attitude towards everything becomes a lot better in 2017!!!!

A quote I enjoy

The quote I really enjoy is "people inspire you or they drain you- pick them wisely". I really enjoy this quote because of the fact it's very true. The people you meet in life can be either a person that motivated you to do better in life or some body that is very toxic to your life and brings you down. It is important to chose wisely because of the fact if you have someone toxic in your life it will effect you as a person and I don't think that's very good. If you have a person that is a HUGE impact on your life and makes you want to do better and achieve your goals that is s person you want to choose. This quote has a very strong meaning behind it and I really enjoy it because as a girl in middle school choosing friends wisely is very important.

What I'm thankful for

This year I am really thankful for the family and friends that I have. My family has been there for me when I need something. It's not always physical things they are there when I need help with homework or some problem I'm facing. My friends do the same for me. They are there for me whenever I need them the most and I'm really thankful for that. Of course they do give me physical things but that's not really what I care about the most. Another thing I'm really thankful for is having a place to live and clothes to wear. Not everyone has a place to live or new clothes to wear all the time. Also , I am REALLY thankful for having a guardian (my mom) that is always there when I need something. If I need something for school or sports she tries her best to get it for me as quick as she possibly could. I'm not always thankful for the physical things she gives me. She helps me with problems I face in life and I am really thankful for that too. Most of all , I am thankful that I have a good life to live and yes I go through some hard times but I have friends and family to get through it!

Election reflection

I think that the election was I guess fair, except the fact that Hillary won the popularity vote and trump just won the electoral vote. I think that Hillary should have won the election because she won the popularity vote but I guess it doesn't work that way. She was the fifth person this has happened to. I just personally do not like Donald trump and I felt that Hillary Clinton should have won the spot as our president elect and soon to be president.  I do not think that Donald trump will be the best fpresident but I mean if he's our president America is just gonn shave to deal with it. We can't necessarily do anything about it because he really isn't doing anything against the law or anything so for now he is in fact our president elect and everyone is going to have to tolerate it.
Personally, I think it would be interesting to be more involved in politics. I love to see like all the arguments or just what's going on in America today. I am not really involved in politics because I never really thought it would be interesting. I think it would be nice to be more involved. I am a actually excited to be voting in the next election because I have never really voted before so it would be my first time. I would love to expiernce what my parents have been doing for so many years. It would be a new thing to me and I can't wait to vote.

All The Broken Pieces

The book I just recently finished is called "All the broken pieces" by Ann E. Burg. This book was about a kid named Matt who was adopted from vietnam and now is living a better life. When he lived in Vietnam there was a war going on and his family really struggled. His mom gave him up because she wanted him to live a better life in America. Throughout the book he always seems to mention or have memories about his family back in Vietnam. He thinks that for every little mess up he makes his family doesn't love or "want" him anymore. In the book he plays on a baseball team and develops an enemy. The "enemy" does not like him because he always says "It's your fault my brother died." Matt always seems to bring himself down whenever he hears this because he thinks that it REALLY is his fault for the brothers passing. The book has series of events that remind Matt about his family but he slowly heals throughout the book.

I can honestly say that I enjoyed this book a whole lot. This book was kind of a "sad" book in a way. The way his story was introduced is the part really liked. They didn't just straight up say "I left my family and moved here cause I was adopted." In this book you had to kind of "know" in a way but it was very touching. It was sad to read when he had the flashbacks about how he left or how he would witness so much horrible things going on in Vietnam. It was sad but touching to hear how he has a good family in america that treats him like that is really their own son! The thing that also really interested me was how the book didn't just focus n his family or what he went through in Vietnam. It had a lot to do with his favorite sport baseball. It didn't focus on the bad things it focused on something else too. Another thing that really caught my attention while reading this book was the way it was formatted. It was written just like how a poem would be written which was in stanzas. It would switch off and go from memories he had of his birth place to him being at home or at practice. I really did enjoy reading this book!

My dream trip

Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to travel all around the world. I seem on TV shows how characters got to travel to different countries on the time and I wanted to live that lifestyle too. I think the place I REALLY want to visit would have to be Italy. I've wanted to visit a lot of other places but Italy would have to be the first place on my list. I'd like to visit Rome, Italy. The scenery looks so beautiful and the food looks even better. I would LOVE to just walk around Italy and discover their lifestyle because I know it's very different from ours. The one place I would love to visit in Rome would be the coliseum. I've learned so much about it and I would love to see it in person myself. Therefore, if I had to chose one dream place to visit I would so visit Italy

10 Years From Now Blog

1. What are your personal goals?

When I get older I hope to be a surgeon or a detective. Before I pursued this dream I hope to finishes high school and go to a college called Stanford university in California. By the time I'm in college I hope to be very independent and I don't plan on having kids or settling down at such a young age. I will only be 23 and I still want to travel when I get free time during the summer. Traveling has always been on of my passions ever since I was little. I would love to see new people and new lifestyles. If I don't become a surgeon and I don't actually become VERY INTERESTED in it I will always try and pursue the career of being a detective.

When I picture myself 10 years from now I see a stron woman that is trying to get through her personal goals as much as she can. Like I said before I really hope I get to pursue my passions I've had since before I could remember. I hope to be successful. I know that you don't always stick with your middle school and high school friends but I really hope I do. I would love it if they supported me every step of the way and I'd for sure cod the same. I also want to be a big impact on people's lives so I wanted to start a foundation of some kind or a clothing drive to help out those in need. Growing up I didn't have EVERYTHING I wanted but I did have everything I needed and I want to give to th less fortunate kids that didn't have what I had growing up.

I really hope that my career works out no matter what I become. Even if the surgeon or the detective job does not work out as long as I'm happy with what I do I will strive to be the best I can be. I feel that no matter what you do or what you become as long as you're happy and successful you are doing great in life already and I want that. I do not want to fail because I want to be able to say "I've made it this far and I can keep going". I want my life to be a very positive one and not filled with all the negative things. In 10 years I hope I'm a very successful 23 year old woman.

One of my dreams as I said before is to travel the world. I would love to start where my family is from and that is Mexico. I wanted to live in my own house or apartment with my pet and drive my dream car which is a Jeep. In order to our sure these dreams I will need to finish college and try bumpy brst to be successful. I hope that in 10 years I could look back and say " I really made it this far! Keep going!!".

Summer Reading Blog

Summary:
The book I read this summer is called Paper Towns by John Green. This story takes place in Orlando, Florida. The book starts out when the two main characters Quentin and Margo are younger. It then leads to when they are in present day and they don't really talk. Until one night Margo asks Quentin to help her get revenge on everyone that has done her wrong that year. They both stay out till almost dawn getting revenge and having fun. Quentin thinks to himself that Margo and him will final,y get close again. A few days later, he finds out she's missing.

Blog 1: Characters
One of the main characters in this book is Margo Roth Spiegelmen. Margo is the type of girl that is fearless, adventurous, and vengeful. I know this because in the book it says, " Margo Roth Spiegelman, who spent three days traveling with the circus- they thought she had potential on the trapeze". (Page 15) This quote is important because it shows how she's adventurous and isn't afraid to do things some people would not do. Margo is the type of girl to run away from home. I personally could not relate to Margo because she is a "rule breaker" type of person and I am not that type of person.

Another main character in this book is Quentin Jacobsen. Quentin is smart, non-slacker, fearful, and weird. In the book it states' " you can't just shut up and calm down and stop being so goddamned terrified of every little adventure?". This quote is important because it shows that he is in fact fearful. He is afraid of getting in trouble.min the book it also states, "you just look cute and be that weird mix of innocent and confident". This quote shows that Quentin is in fact weird. I think personally in a way I can also relate to Quentin because he is not a slacker nor is he a rule breaker and I'm not either of those myself. The character I relate most to is Quentin.
